Chateau Fayan Description
Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion lies in the heart of the satellite titles of St. Emilion apellation in the 'right bank' Libournais sub-region of Bordeaux. It has the strictest laws regarding the production of wine of any AOC appellation. The chateau was purchased by Jerome Parat and his wife in 1997, following a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. The 20-acre estate features high density plantings, and great investments have been made in the winemaking cellars. The wine is a 90-10 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc; it has aromas of plum, cherry, vanilla, cigar box and cocoa, while on the palate there are flavors of earth, mushrooms, dried cherry and a light touch of oak.
