"Fazenda mae de ouro" translates as "the mother of gold farm"--a name taken for the beautiful landscape and a "tremendous respect for Mother Earth." This particular cachaca is aged in white oak before bottling.
The 2012 Beverage Testing Institute said the cachaca has "great purity and sense of place."
Liquor Snob said, "We truly enjoyed Mae de Ouro and we recommend you pick up a bottle if you can get your hands on it."
