Slight bricking in the color. Nose is heavy of leather or tobacco with slight tartness. On entry to the mouth those suggestions of leather and tobacco continue. Little or no fruit at this point. As the wine passes back still tight tannins arise. It is not until the back of the palate that some currant fruit and some acid are detected. This is not the wine for a wimpy, fruit-forward wine lover. Pinot Noir lovers stay away. There’s nothing subtle about this one. This is a powerful, in-your-face, you’d-better-like-oak-and-tannin wine.
