E&J Patriarch Family Reserve Brandy 20 years 1979 rare discontinued 750 ML. Patriarch a masterpiece is born in honor of the founders of E&J distillers, we proudly present E&J Patriarch. E&J Patriarch is named in honor of Julio Gallo, the driving force behind making world class brandy in California. E&J Patriarch was so important to Julio, he was involved in nearly every step of its 20 year development. He personally selected some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from California's North Coast. After he crafted the grapes into a bold Cabernet Sauvignon, he believed this wine would make a one of a kind brandy. Extraordinary measures were taken while distilling the wine into Brandy. Julio used important yeast from the Cognac region of France to ensure that only the finest ingredients went into his labor of love. He also selected the ideal small white oak barrels in which to rest his creation and let its complexitie develop. Julio devoted his effort and passion to creating an extraordinary bottle of Brandy. E&J Patriarch is the culmination of Julio's love and devotion to brandy. Finally, more than 20 years after it began, E&J Patriarch is ready for you to savor and enjoy, Julio held patriarch in the highest esteem and we hope you will as well. " I have recently tasted what must be some of the very best California Brandy I know it was made from California Cabernet Sauvignon grapes aged for 20 years in oak barrels. It has bouquet that's soft and rich with gentle oak it has heaps of butterscotch caramel flavors that are rounded and smooth it sits splendidly on the palate and finishes like nectar. It's E&J Patriarch 1979 Family Reserve Brandy. It was made by Julio Gallo, and produced in his memory. Thanks you, Julio." Richard L. Elia The Quarterly Reviews of Wines May 2000
